Evolutionary Perceptions of Health and Fertility

Beautiful slim woman body
From an evolutionary standpoint, fuller figures were often associated with good health and the ability to procreate. In the past, when food shortages were common, women with higher body mass were seen as healthier and more capable of surviving harsh conditions. Even today, many men subconsciously perceive curvy women as more capable of bearing and raising healthy offspring. Such instinctive behaviors are particularly characteristic of countries in South America and Africa.
The Pleasure of Physical Closeness
For some men, a fuller body is more attractive in the context of physical intimacy. Softness and curves can be perceived as more comfortable and pleasant during hugging or close contact. A curvy silhouette is often associated with warmth, nurturing, and femininity, which further strengthens the emotional bond.
